Never thought I would type that again but here we go Pet Prescription Team members. I'm going to do my best to blast this out today on all media but please help me in the efforts.
With in-person gatherings mostly paused until the worst of the pandemic passed, nearly every corner of every industry has embraced some sort of hardship in the process. Nonprofits are no exception, and organizations that didn’t adapt quickly continue to fall behind or disband.
Recently this truth was brought to the forefront when the Pet Prescription Team received a very unique phone-call into our office. The caller shared they were given the task by another Nonprofit therapy organization to research other Therapy dog organizations to see if they were still in business after Covid-19. The caller shared after contacting over 31 other organizations the Pet Prescription Team was only the 10th organization out of 31 still in operation.
Despite the myriad challenges COVID-19 pandemic has introduced, the Pet Prescription Team adopted creative and innovative approaches to execute our mission. Make no mistake, the ability for Pet Prescription Team to continue to serve its communities is a testament to the passion, with PPT team members pouring their heart and soul into this organization and not giving up.
The Pet Prescription Team has survived the Pandemic with very limited financial support for the past 2 1/2 years. All fundraisers which supported the Pet Prescription Team organization were halted. Now as we begin to rebuild we are in dire need of financial support.
The partnership with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Unit and the Pet Prescription Team has placed an urgency not only on recruiting new volunteers but a need for financial assistance for the Pet Prescription Team organization.
This partnership and program will be implemented through various rollout plans. The 25 Sheriff Stations in Los Angeles County will be introduced to this new resource to assist in the investigation process of young victims. The service’s the Pet Prescription Team will provide will be through scheduled interview service’s or on call service’s for detectives in the field when young victims are involved. The Pet Prescription Team therapy dogs and volunteers will be on call and available for emergency service’s 7 days a week. Overall, the use of therapy dogs to help establish rapport with children during abuse investigations has the potential to be an inventive and promising practice for the Los Angeles County Special Victims Unit.
In addition, the Pet Prescription Team volunteers that arrive to support Los Angeles County Special Victims Unit will also provide each victim a small token to keep them company after the PPT volunteers leave.
To help raise these needed funds and support the efforts of the Pet Prescription Team moving forward the Big Round Up Fundraiser will run from September 6th thru September 30th and will be held online.
We are asking all those that believe in the work of the Pet Prescription Team to make a donation to this fundraiser to help support this new project and the future of this organization. We also ask that you take a moment today and share this fundraiser online through Social Media.

In the online campaign I shared of how resilient each of our members have been even with fighting the battle we have in the past 2 1/2 years. Each of you that have been there with this organization have something to really be proud of.
If we continued to visit during Covid there is no doubt we can raise the funds we need and add the volunteers to grow this organization back stronger then we were before the Pandemic.
Are you with us and will you help us?
