American Kennel Club states; “Therapy dog certification organizations are the experts in this field. It is their dedication that has organized and advanced the work of therapy dogs and their efforts should be acknowledged and appreciated.”
The Pet Prescription Team is a therapy dog certification organization recognized by the American Kennel Club. A dog must be certified by one of the verified organizations to be eligible to receive the AKC Therapy Dog title.
We have compiled information through the AKC website to help you as a member to attain the following through the American Kennel Club, Therapy dog titles, AKC visitation reporting form, Canine Good Citizen application and AKC Partners canine number.
To earn an AKC Therapy Dog™ title, you and your dog must meet the following criteria:

Certified/registered by an AKC recognized therapy dog organization.

Perform the required number of visits for the title for which you are applying. The number of required visits is specific for each title.

The dog MUST have either an AKC number, PAL number or AKC Partners Canine number.

Canine Good Citizen® title can be attained by an AKC recognized therapy organization and have earned an AKC Therapy Dog title may receive the official Canine Good Citizen® title.
Membership Dues
Membership dues may be submitted directly from the link provided. Membership dues are due and payable each year for continued membership.
